Nikita & Michael are Forever Together
A brief biography of Roy Dupuis Roy Dupuis was born 21 April 1963, in Abitibi, Qubec, Canada. He spent part of his early years in Kapuskasing, Ontario where he learned to speak English before his family moved back to Abitibi. He has an older sister, Roxane and a younger brother, Roderick. Mr. Dupuis was initially fascinated by science -- until he saw the movie Moliere. The next day, he dropped physics for theater, and the rest is history. His training began when a friend changed his mind about auditioning for the National Theater School of Canada and Dupuis, on a lark, replaced him and was chosen out of two thousand people to enroll. Among his theater credits are the title roles in Romeo and Juliet and Harold and Maude. His awards include two consecutive Metrostars (Best Actor at the Gala Metrostar in 1991 and 1992), the Gemeaux Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for Les Filles De Caleb in 1992, and the Rose D'Or, a popular Canadian vote for Actor of the Year in 1991. When La Femme Nikita is not in production, Roy Dupuis lives near Montral where he enjoys renovating his 1840's farmhouse. He enjoys travelling and hopes to visit China this summer. He also enjoys cross country skiing, skydiving, hockey and other athletic endeavors, as well as cooking for friends and family and working in and around his home. He has two dogs, a German Sheperd named Hassard whom he found abused and abandoned and a smaller dog. |
