Her mother was a doctor, and her father was a painter, but they got divorced when Ami was really little. Ami is said to have an IQ of around 300, and she studies pretty much non-stop, except for when she's out Sailor Scouting. Ami has big dreams, and she wants to be a doctor someday. In fact, in one episode, "Sailor Mercury Moving On?" Ami was considering going to Germany to study abroad. She gets as far as the airport and changes her mind, after all, she can't let down the Sailor Scouts. Ami is a shy, introverted girl, when she's not with the scouts she's mostly by herself. But at one time she liked a guy named Greg. She noticed him because he scored higher than her on an important test. Greg liked her a lot too, even before he even met her he caried around a newspaper clipping of her winning some kind of academic contest. When she talked to him, she found out that he was one of the Rainbow Crystal carriers, and he had the power to see the future. The reason he had scored higher than her on the test was because he had looked ahead in time and seen the correct answers. He knew that she was Sailor Mercury, and he knew that Zoicite would turn him into a monster and she would have to destroy him. It was kinda sad. Greg turned into a monster, but Sailor Moon healed him with her Moon Healing Activation power. At the end of the episode, Serena gave him a real picture of Ami to replace the tattered up newspaper clipping he had had before. Greg appears in a couple later episodes, and even though they aren't an official couple, the two definitly click. Ami is a very important member of the Sailor Scouts team. As Sailor Mercury, she has the power of water. Though her attacks seem weak, and kind of stupid (comon, who could possibly be afraid of Mercury Bubbles?) you have to know that her attacks are strictly for distraction and confusion. When looking at it that way, her attacks are probably the most effective. She also has a specail visor that she activates by pressing her right earing. This visor helps her calculate things from the location of an enemy to an enemy's weak point. She has a little mini-computer to go along with her visor. These gadgets often help the Scouts out of big messes. In short, Ami is a sweet, kind, extremely intellegent girl. |
